The Don Test – Specsavers Cricket
This legendary test for hand eye co-ordination test has made a comeback in Specsavers the Don Test. Ben Grant.

A legendary hand-eye co-ordination test
Cricketing icon Donald Bradman used to get his eye-in by hitting a golf ball with a cricket stump. It was the ultimate hand-eye coordination test. So with Specsavers signing on as the “Test Experts” for the summer of cricket, we paid homage to this icon with an eye test that every cricket fan, player, and commentator wanted to have a hit at.

The Don Test was simple. See how many taps can you could get with a golf ball and a cricket stump. Then film it, and upload it to social media to be ranked on the weekly leader-board. For every filmed tap Specsavers would donate $10 to the Bradman Foundation, who work to make sport accessible for kids with disabilities.

Don Test activations rolled out across every Ashes Test and Twenty-Twenty game around Australia, with over 65,000+ fans taking part in the hand-eye test.

While the Australian Cricket Team got competitive, our grass-roots players took on the test in their thousands, with local cricket clubs spending their Saturday afternoons pitting their young guns against each other for the chance to win the weekly prize – $1000 for the weeks highest scorer and $1000 for their local club.
